Futures research is about creating alternative futures.  VISIONING is absolutely essential to this process.  There can be no progressive change or leadership without vision.  Teaching creativity is a first step in learning to vision--including examining the creative process and the change process.  Then visioning can be applied to the topic area to create alternative futures and assess the desirability of each option.
