THINKING is the most important activity of futurists.  To stimulate your thought process, this page--which will be changed frequently--will include bits of information (often called factoids) on a variety of topics:

>>INFORMATION is the most important commodity in the world today; it is the number one product produced by 80% of America's workers.

>>BIOTECHNOLOGY will likely produce substantially longer lives, home-grown replacement organs, smarter and healthier individuals, and an end to most genetic diseases.

>>BIOCHIPS will result from the melding of information and biotechnologies; these tiny but powerful computers---composed of organic material--will add storage and retrieval of massive amounts of information in human neural systems--brain computers. Other biochips will surge through the bloodstream in search of disease and malfunctioning organs and either corrrect the problems or at least send warnings to the patient.

>>NANOTECHNOLOGY--critical to biochip development--will also result in countless workers doing the important tasks necessary to keep society functioning (e.g., build roads, buildings, parks, airplanes, cars) without being seen.  Vision a skyscraper appearing as in slow motion over a short period of time, seemingly by magic.  A nano is a billionth of--thus a nano-inch would be a billionth of an inch, and a million nano-inch machines could accomplish a lot without being detectable by the naked eye.
